The Meewella Building is where it all started, an iconic landmark in downtown Colombo, this sapphire building was opened in 1996 by former Governor of the Central Bank, A. S. Jayawardena. It serves as headquarters for Meewella Holdings and a few other reputed companies.
After successfully pioneering glass and aluminum curtain wall technology in Sri Lanka with the construction of the Meewella Building, we completed several other landmark projects using this technology, alongside stainless steel fabrications, windows, storefronts, and doors.

A self-sustaining high-rise mixed development tower plan is also underway, targeting the post-pandemic demand to replace Liberty Arcade in the heart of Colombo.

Energy
We pioneered sustainable energy in Sri Lanka; building the island’s first windmill farm in 1997 with imported heavy machinery, the largest of its kind in the country at the time.
At Meewella Holdings, we’re firm believers in being green and our legacy reflects that. And now, we’re innovating with German thin-film solar technology with a guarantee of 20 years, in partnership with industry giant, Hanergy Group, China. Meewella Holdings has installed hundreds of solar panels on commercial and residential buildings, from Colombo to Kandy.
We’re leading the industry when it comes to providing sustainable energy solutions and we’ll take Sri Lanka forward in reaching her goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
